As a producer or company, have you had a successful collaboration on a co-production with a theatre institution? Then you may be able to contribute. UP and Dansk Scenekunst are looking for the best examples of co-production agreements where the collaboration has worked particularly well.
We are doing this as part of the development of a common tool for creating fair, transparent and sustainable collaborations – initially a contract template and a checklist for mutual use by independent performing arts groups and theatres.
Please send us co-production contracts and agreements – from collaborations that have worked particularly well – for inspiration in the development of a contract template and collaboration checklist.

In late 2024, we took the first step with a dialogue meeting where people from both institutional theatres and the independent scene got together. This led to a report with recommendations that you can use as inspiration when setting up a good co-production partnership.
Now we are moving on to the next phase: developing a contract template and a checklist that can serve as concrete tools in the work of creating fair, transparent and sustainable collaborations.
If you send us your examples of good co-production agreements, you will have the opportunity to provide feedback on the contract template and checklist we are developing.
A focus group with representatives from both institutional theatres and the independent field will help to qualify the work.
When the tool is ready, we will invite you to an open launch event where both theatres and independent performing arts groups can sign up to participate as pilot users – so that together we can test and ensure that the tool best serves the entire industry.
