Did you know that UP's Main Studio is actually an old film studio? The space has deep roots in performing and producing – all the way back to the 1930's, when the legendary Minerva company produced film in the space.
Truss system with motorised crane
In relatively the short time that UP has given the performing arts opportunity to rehearse in the studio, there have been requests for the Main Studio to be able to fully accommodate stage production preparation.
That is now made possible with a truss system with floor-to-ceiling motorised cranes that allows you to test lighting and technology down to the smallest detail.
Access to the equipment bank
In addition, there is now also access to an equipment bank, where much of the equipment used around the stages is available.
You can now get ready for production on your own terms before co-production with a theatre or going on tour, for example.
New offer - 25% discount for last-minute bookings
As something new, you can get a 25% discount on the rental price if one of UP's rehearsal rooms at Baldersgade is available within the next four weeks.

In addition, The Pit - the building's small black box, and White Lab - the building's bright hall, have been equipped with a music system and a mirrored wall, and are available in the new year both for rent and during the free weeks with artistic development programmes in Time in Space.
Our Green Room has become the cosy lounge we dreamed of as a place for informal or formal networking for all users of the building. The Green Room can be converted into a seminar and meeting room for UP's own activities as well as others.
Also, our kitchen has been upgraded to suit a building with a buzzing life of different types of users and can brew enough coffee or chill food and drinks for really big events.
A big thank you to A.P. Møller og Hustru Chastine Mc-Kinney Møllers Fond til almene Formaal for helping to ensure an optimal setting for the independent Danish performing arts that meet at Baldersgade in Copenhagen.
