Are you an independent performing artist or creative producer with an international outlook? Do you want to be stretched artistically and expand your practice in dialogue with international colleagues? Then CREATIVE OXYGEN - a development programme at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe - is for you on 18-22 August 2025.
About the programme
A solid international network is not built on quick meetings alone. It requires time, trust and mutual interest. With CREATIVE OXYGEN, we create the framework for just that - and we believe that long-term internationalisation starts with being curious, generous and present.
CREATIVE OXYGEN is an international development programme during the Edinburgh Festivals, where performing artists from Denmark, England and Canada come together around what matters most: art.
During 5 intense days in Edinburgh you will:
- see performances with artists from around the world
- engage in facilitated conversations and reflections on what you see
- Share and develop your own artistic practice
- participate in networking events
- meet an international host artist who matches your profile and introduces you to their network
Why participate in CREATIVE OXYGEN?
CREATIVE OXYGEN is about creating opportunities for a stronger international outlook and long-term networking opportunities - by tuning into art and understanding how it is also shaped by different cultural contexts.
The programme is not a showcase. It's not about selling a performance, but about developing yourself as an artist through impressions, dialogue and new connections.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Reflect on your practice in a global perspective - and discover what resonates internationally.
- Sharpen your artistic mindset through encounters with new formats, art views and colleagues.
- Strategically develop your international network - both through facilitated networking meetings and introductions from an international host artist who shares your artistic approach.
- Build relationships beyond the festival - with potential collaborators, co-producers and platforms.
Who can apply?
We are looking for two artists or creative producers from the independent performing arts field in Denmark with a strong artistic profile and an international commitment.
Selection is made by Wildtopia (#DANISH) and the Development Platform for Performing Arts, and a response to applications can be expected no later than 24 June 2025.
We offer:
- Travel, insurance and UK ETA
- 5 nights accommodation and 5 days per diem in Edinburgh
- Per diem for 5 days
- Tickets to selected performances
- Two meetings with an international host artist
