Make space for immersion and reflection at UP Workspace

UP Workspace is a shared office space with stylish furniture and lighting. You or your company, group or organisation can rent an office space next to colleagues in the performing arts community either full-time or part-time. Access is available 24 hours a day. You get your own locked locker, free coffee and printing. Cleaning, maintenance and everything else is taken care of by UP - you just need to concentrate on what you're working on.

What do I get as a member?

A sustainable working community
As a freelancer in the performing arts, you are very much alone and sometimes under pressure. At UP Workspace, we create a focused environment and culture where we support each other in a healthy work life.
You can have a work address at UP
One of the benefits of a Workspace seat is that you can register your company or organisation to UP's address.
Professional and great working conditions
As a member, you have a desk in our quiet, enclosed space. Workspace is decorated with proper furniture, cosy interiors and plants. We have 12 desks of different types to suit different work situations.
Lunch together with others
You are free to use our kitchen and courtyard and eat your lunch with the rest of us in the house. Every Wednesday we eat together in the Green Room.
Invite guests to meetings at UP
As a workspace member, you can book UP's meeting rooms for free.
Free access to a selection of UP's programmes
As a member, you get access to a selection of UP's professional activities and help to start formats and groups yourself. For example, we can organise sparring sessions, networking lunches, etc.
Visibility and exposure
As a member, you will appear on our website and we may share your events and more. This is how Workspace can expose you and give you legitimacy with funders and partners.
Coffee, print, locker, etc.
Coffee is available all day and you can print freely - all for free. We also take care of cleaning, watering plants, etc. so you can fully concentrate on your work.
What else do I get?
  • As a company, organisation or group, you can share your membership. 1 seat can be shared by 1-3 people. 2 seats can be shared by 2-4 people.
  • Members have the opportunity to contribute topics to UP's webinars, where UP engages a relevant professional to unfold an issue or a professional theme.

Our hope for Workspace

Diversity We gain the most from learning from others who do something different from us or see things differently.

Generosity and openness An equal, sparring, generous community where people want to get to know each other and open doors for each other.

Respect for each other's time and focus and differences. We all need to be able to focus on our work and recognise that we have different needs for quiet and conversation.

Curiosity and active participation We are curious about what else is going on and what others are doing. We actively seek to gain and share knowledge.

Shared ownership and hosting We want everyone to feel part of a big house with a lot going on. We invite others into it and make sure they feel at home too.

The small print
  • UP alone selects members for Workspace.
  • Members can suggest and nominate new members.
  • UP is committed to improving diversity, so we welcome many suggestions.
  • We reserve the right to make changes - we are developing this together and must learn together.
Who can apply?
  • All professionals and people working with the performing arts - primarily, but not limited to, actors in the independent field.
  • NB: we do not have sound studios or workshops at UP.
